UPI sports columnist Milton Richman, who died of a heart attack Monday, was eulogized by Johnny Bench, New York Post columnist Dick Young and Richman’s brother, Arthur, an executive with the New York Mets, during funeral services in New York. Commissioner Peter Ueberroth, New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and Manager Davey Johnson of the Mets were among the 350 people attending the service.
“I come as an athlete but I also come as a friend,” Bench said. “I felt like his son. He certainly gave me enough fatherly advice. His sons were the athletes of the world.”
