Seven House members and the leaders of three national women’s groups called for a boycott of Trans World Airlines, contending the airline’s treatment of its flight attendants threatens working women and the labor movement. “This is more than a labor dispute. It involves the future of economic equity for women,” Rep. Barbara Boxer ( D-Greenbrae) said at a Washington press conference on behalf of the 4,600 flight attendants who lost their jobs after a bitter strike. “Don’t fly the unfriendly skies of TWA,” said Boxer.
