Cavaliers Set to Name Embry GM, Reed Coach

The Cleveland Cavaliers have called a news conference for today and reportedly will hire Wayne Embry as general manager, and in turn, Embry will hire Willis Reed as the team’s coach.
A source close to the Cavaliers told the wire services that Embry, 49, a consultant with the Indiana Pacers and a former general manager with the Milwaukee Bucks, has stipulated a desire to hire Reed, an assistant coach with Atlanta. A Cavalier spokesman refused comment.
Embry could not be reached for comment, but it was reported that he was in the process of completing an agreement with Reed.
