Gross Sets World Record, 1:56.24, in 200 Butterfly

Olympic gold medalist Michael Gross of West Germany set a world record Saturday in the 200-meter butterfly in the West German swimming championships at Hanover.
Gross posted a time of 1:56.24, breaking his own record by .41 of a second.
Gross, 22, has set 11 world records in his career. He won gold medals in the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter freestyle at the 1984 Olympics.
