Local News in Brief : Attendant Killed in Gas Station Robbery

A 30-year-old gas station attendant was shot and killed Sunday night by a robber who held up a Camarillo filling station, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.
The victim, Scott James of Ojai, died at the scene from a single gunshot wound in the head, said Sgt. Harlan Rudd of the sheriff’s major crimes unit.
Rudd said there were no suspects in the shooting, which occurred about 8:45 p.m. as James tended a USA gas station on Central Avenue. The robber fled with an undetermined amount of cash, Rudd said.
