Westinghouse Profit Rises 13.3% in Second Quarter

Westinghouse Electric said its second-quarter profit rose 13.3% from a year ago. Net income for the quarter ended June 30 was $163.1 million, compared to $143.9 million in 1985.
Revenue increased to $2.73 billion from $2.56 billion.
“Although the economy is sending mixed signals, Westinghouse is well positioned for the remainder of the year, and we are on target with respect to our goals,” Chairman Douglas D. Danforth said.
For the half of 1986, net earnings reached $298.3 million, compared to $273.6 million last year. Revenue increased 8.5% to $5.29 billion from $4.87 billion, the company said.
