Redken’s president quit after a year on the job.

In its second management shake-up this year, the Canoga Park hair-care company said Solomon R. Mester will be replaced by Chairman John E. Meehan, husband of founder and chief executive Paula Kent Meehan. Redken, whose earnings fell 72% in the nine months ended April 30, also said Senior Vice President Armond L. Gauthier has resigned, and no replacement has been announced.
