General Dynamics will cut workers in San Diego.

Company officials reported that more than 300 of 2,900 salaried and hourly space systems division employees at its San Diego facility will be laid off. Another 100 employees will be laid off at a Shuttle/Centaur testing facility at Cape Canaveral, Fla. The layoffs follow a June 19 decision by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to cancel its Shuttle/Centaur program.
