Resident Resents Official’s Stand

I was appalled the other night to attend the South Gate City Council meeting and have Councilman (Henry C.) Gonzalez state on the record that he voted against Proposition 13.
This proposition saved homeowners, the small businessman and many middle-class homeowners and middle-size businesses from bankruptcy.
I now begin to understand the shortsightedness of this councilman, whose claim to fame, apparently, is that he is a great contract negotiator for the United Auto Workers. As I look at the closed auto factories in Southern California, I wonder if he should be a councilman or a negotiator relating to any city matters.
