BEIRUT — A 14-pound bomb hidden inside a suitcase blew up today outside a coffee shop in Christian East Beirut, killing two people and wounding 32, in the fifth such blast in the war-torn capital in eight days.
Christian Voice of Lebanon radio said the explosive charge went off at 10:25 a.m. in front of a two-story building that houses a coffee shop. The blast destroyed the building and caused small fires that burned five cars. Fire brigades put the blazes out.
