Nancy Lopez has set her sights on a sub-par opening round today in the LPGA’s Henredon tournament at High Point, N.C., her first golf tournament after a seven-month layoff during which she gave birth to her second daughter.

Lopez is the Henredon’s defending champion. Her last tournament was in December. After several practice rounds, she said that much of her game is tournament-ready.

“I’m hitting the ball great,” she said. I’m hitting at the flag, I’m hitting my driver down the middle of the fairway . . . might as well win the tournament.”
