A Van Nuys couple has been arrested in connection with the beating death of their 17-month-old daughter, Los Angeles police reported Saturday.
Kassandra Dawn Crumb died at about 1 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Presbyterian Hospital from extensive head injuries, said Lt. Doc Warkentin of the abused child unit.
The child’s mother, Vonda Kay Crumb, originally told detectives that her daughter may have been hurt by employees at a day-care center, Warkentin said.
Investigators were unable to confirm that information, and after re-interviewing Crumb and her husband, Parker, police arrested the couple, who live in the 6600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard.
Both were arrested for suspicion of murder and were being held at Los Angeles County Central Jail.
