McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Co. in Huntington Beach said it has opened a new office in Albuquerque, N.M., to carry out the support work for the first phase of an $18-million contract it was awarded by the Defense Department in May.
A spokesman said that the office will be used to work out the preliminary design for the Neutral Particle Beam Integrated Experiment for the U.S. Air Force and will be staffed by five employees from various McDonnell Douglas facilities. Two of the staff members will be transfers from the company’s Huntington Beach facility, including Jack Peters, who will head the team.
