Robots that compose music, perform instant medical diagnoses and compete with humans in problem-solving games are among the artificial intelligence attractions that next year will tour science museums nationwide, including the California Museum of Science and Industry here.
“The fields of artificial intelligence and robotics will provide some of the most exciting technological advances of the next decade,” said director Roger L. Nichols of the Boston Museum of Science, where the exhibition will premiere in January.
The exhibit will include industrial robots in simulated working environments, such as welding on auto assembly lines and mixing chemicals in research labs. Other robots will be shown aiding blind and handicapped people.
