Arcadia : Condemnations to Continue

The Arcadia Redevelopment Agency will continue condemnation proceedings against four of 10 property owners in an area on the south side of Huntington Drive where a $9-million redevelopment project is planned.

The agency has reached accord with the other six property owners in the area, but has been unable to agree on a fair price for the properties on which Bob’s Beef Burger, Rentype Inc., Arcadia Muffler and the Derby Motel are located.

The nine-acre redevelopment project, east of 2nd Avenue, will include offices, retail stores and restaurants. Plans call for the agency to close escrow with the developer, Stanley W. Gribble & Associates, next May.
