A man died Tuesday morning after he was struck by a taxi as he walked west across the 1400 block of North Harbor Drive, according to the coroner’s office.
Walter Salcedo, 57, who has relatives in Puerto Rico, was hit by a northbound station wagon belonging to an independent taxi company at 6:50 a.m., Deputy Coroner George Dickason said, adding that the coroner’s office did not know Salcedo’s address.
Salcedo was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:25 a.m.
San Diego police are investigating the accident.
