Angels’ Organist Should Finish What He Starts
- Share via
Have you ever been at an Angels game and tried to figure out the point of Anaheim Stadium organist Shay Torrent’s repertoire of bonks, bangs, tinkles and twangs? Does he really believe he is inspiring and entertaining the crowd?
Have you ever seen a crowd less spirited after “Charge” is played? How about when Shay starts the crowd clapping and then leaves them stranded as he goes off on a tangent with another song?
C’mon sportswriters, you’re there every night with we season ticket-holders. Haven’t you broken down and called him Shay Torment ? With the Angels set to host the American League playoffs and a national TV audience, isn’t it about time the Angels and the City of Anaheim provided us with a major league organist? While they are at it, why not a major league scoreboard, too?
