About 11,000 workers in eight of 11 Atlantic City, N.J., casino hotels voted on a proposed wage freeze, and union officials predicted the workers would overwhelmingly reject the contract and stage the city’s first widespread casino walkout at midnight Monday. “We’re prepared to stay out as long as it takes,” said Roy Silbert, president of Local 54 of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees and Bartenders International. Spokesmen for the casinos said they would remain open.
