Lomita : School Secession Backed
The City Council has endorsed a resolution supporting the effort of a group of Lomita parents and city officials to secede from the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The endorsement came Monday after the Committee to Reorganize Lomita Schools gathered enough signatures from Lomita voters to force the Los Angeles County Committee on School District Organization to hold a hearing on the secession drive.
The hearing will be held Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Fleming Junior High School, 25425 Walnut Street.
