A pre-dawn candlelight demonstration at Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman’s Westwood home was broken up by police as protesters woke neighbors by chanting animal rights slogans, authorities said. About 40 demonstrators left quietly at 3 a.m. after the order to disperse and no arrests were made, police said. Demonstrators were protesting Edelman’s lack of support for ending sales of animals by the county pound to medical researchers.
