West Covina : BKK Seeks Rate Increase
BKK Corp. has asked for a rate increase of $3.85 per ton of refuse deposited at its dump in West Covina. If approved, it would cost $11.55 to dump a ton of refuse before noon and $12.65 after noon.
In a letter to the city seeking the rate hike, BKK Vice President Kris Kazarian said the increase is needed to meet new regulations in the construction of a non-hazardous-waste area. The council is expected to vote on the proposal Oct. 13. BKK most recently raised its rates by $1 a ton in July.
