Local News in Brief : Body Found in Burning Car in Canyon Country

An unidentified body was found in a burning car at Sierra Highway and Vasquez Canyon Road in Canyon Country on Thursday morning, and homicide investigators were looking into the case, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Los Angeles County firefighters discovered the body at 9:08 a.m. while extinguishing the fire, which was believed to have been intentionally set, Sgt. Merlyn Poppleton said.
The victim’s sex was not disclosed.
