Colorado State Upsets BYU, 24-20

PROVO, Utah — Steve Bartalo scored three touchdowns and set a Western Athletic Conference career rushing record as Colorado State upset Brigham Young, 24-20, Friday night.
Bartalo, who rushed for 131 yards in 33 carries, scored twice in the fourth quarter, including the winning touchdown on a one-yard run with 46 seconds remaining.
The 200-pound senior broke the WAC mark of 3,863 yards set by New Mexico’s Mike Williams in 1975-78.
Colorado State, which raised its record to 3-2 and 1-1 in the WAC, intercepted three of BYU quarterback Steve Lindsley’s passes. Lindsley completed 25 of 39 passes for 265 yards and rushed one yard for a touchdown.
BYU is also 3-2 and 1-1.
