Clippers Continue on the Wrong Foot as Benjamin Can’t Find the Right Foot

FRESNO — The exhibition basketball season is designed to give teams a chance to evaluate their talent, sharpen their skills, put their right foot forward.
Benoit Benjamin, the Clippers’ No. 1 draft pick in 1985, had a little trouble with that last item. After all, how can you put the right foot forward if you bring two left shoes? Incredible as it may seem, Benjamin couldn’t play Tuesday night because he had no right shoe.
The winless Clippers lost their fifth straight game, 107-105, to the Golden State Warriors. Purvis Short scored 33 points, and Sleepy Floyd made the go-ahead basket for Golden State with 2:42 to play.
A 12-foot shot by Short and Floyd’s 21-foot shot 26 seconds later made it 104-103. Short then sank two free throws at 1:11 for a three-point lead.
