Santa Ana : Municipal Yard Protests Will Be Heard Tonight
- Share via
City Manager David Ream will meet with residents living near the Municipal Yard tonight to discuss their concern about the health and safety threat they believe the area poses.
Rosalio Medrano, spokesman for a church-organized community group in the area of the yard at 730 E. Warner Ave., said residents have complained about the problems in vain for about 10 years.
Medrano said the problems include trash, truck traffic that threatens children attending neighboring Monroe Elementary School, rats, noise and air pollution.
Medrano added that former City Manager A. J. Wilson promised that a block wall would be built around the yard and that it eventually would be relocated to another site. However, much of the area remains ringed by fences, he said.
The meeting was scheduled for the parish hall of Our Lady of Guadelupe Church, 541 E. Central Ave. at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 547-0856.
