Kennedy quarterback Jeff Newman connected with running back Doug Rodriguez on the sixth play of the game for a 42-yard pass completion to the 6-yard line. . . . On the next play, tailback Edwin Jones scored what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown on a 6-yard run. . . . On fourth-and-11 from the Kennedy 36 in the first quarter, Simi’s Mark Bustamante faked a punt and hit wide receiver Bob Skolnick for a 19-yard gain. . . . Four plays later Bustamante kicked a 22-yard field goal.
