Scott Simpson birdied three holes in a row and upset Lanny Wadkins, 65-68, in the quarterfinals of the Seiko Tucson Match Play golf championship at Tucson.
Simpson will play Ken Green, and defending champion Jim Thorpe will meet Phil Blackmar in this morning’s semifinals of the medal-match play event.
In the seniors’ semifinals, Bruce Crampton will face Don January, and Bob Charles will take on Ben Smith.
