NEW YORK — Stock prices gained ground today, extending last week’s advance as interest rates fell.
The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials closed up 16.45 at 1,894.26.
New York Stock Exchange volume was about 138.22 million shares compared with 147.20 million shares Friday.
