Los Angeles school board member Larry Gonzalez launched his campaign for a seat on the Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday.
Flanked by supporters, including state Sen. Art Torres (D-South Pasadena) and Councilman Richard Alatorre, Gonzalez told a news conference that he will focus a “positive” campaign on his board experience and “concrete results” from his anti-drug and anti-gang proposals.
The open seat in northeast Los Angeles, encompassing a district stretching from Highland Park to the Pico-Union area, is also being sought by Assemblywoman Gloria Molina (D-Los Angeles) and 17 others.
