Fluor Corp. said its Fluor Daniel unit will design and build an oil- and natural gas-fired power plant in Lowell, Mass. The contract, awarded by the Consolidated Power Co., is estimated by officials of the Irvine engineering, construction and natural resources company to be worth more than $20 million. Steam energy, a byproduct of the generating facility, will be sold to a local manufacturing company, Fluor said. The project, which has been started, is scheduled for completion in 1987.
