Responding to neighbors’ complaints, Anaheim police have arrested six adults and two juveniles in connection with alleged sales of small quantities of marijuana and methamphetamines at a West Lincoln Avenue pinball arcade.
The arrests, made over the Thanksgiving weekend and announced Monday, followed a four-month investigation in which three undercover officers hung out at the Games Plus Arcade, playing pinball and buying drugs, said Sgt. David S. Severson, supervisor of the Anaheim Police Department’s Street Action Crime Team.
An arcade employee was arrested for allegedly assisting in the illegal drug sales, Severson said. Patrol officers are still seeking two more suspects in the case.
Severson said each officer made “at least two separate buys from each suspect,” usually purchasing about a quarter gram, or $25 worth, of methamphetamine (commonly known as “speed”) or a small amount of marijuana. None of those arrested was a major drug dealer, he said, noting, “We particularly target street sales, not the big dealers” in his unit.
Arrested on suspicion of selling illegal drugs--a felony--were Robin Lyle Clark, 27, of Anaheim; Patrick Donald Henry, 20, a transient; Steve Johnson, 28, a transient; Ronald Karl Whitsel, 19, a transient; Victor Kemp Griffith, 29, of Anaheim, and two male juveniles, a 15-year-old from Anaheim and a 17-year-old from Cypress. Arcade employee Kyle Christine Robbins, 20, of Buena Park, was arrested on suspicion of aiding in the sale of narcotics, Severson said.
All eight were in jail or Juvenile Hall on Monday night.
