Iran-Contra Connection: Reagan’s Watergate?
It would seem that any objective investigation logically can reach only one of two conclusions:
1--Reagan really didn’t know what was going on in the basement of his own house, or
2--He did know and lied about it.
With regard to the first finding, the facts would confirm (as if further confirmation were necessary) that Reagan is not much in contact with the reality of his personal environment--a rather embarrassing disclosure.
The second finding, on the other hand, might totally demolish Reagan’s image of straight shooting, standing tall honesty, and almost certainly require his resignation or impeachment.
