South Korea’s opposition party said it will boycott Parliament until the government apologizes for blocking a huge opposition rally last Saturday. Hong Sa Dok of the New Korea Democratic Party said the boycott will remain in effect until Prime Minister Lho Shin Yong makes an apology in the National Assembly and gives assurances that a rally can be held. The ruling Democratic Justice Party said the government has no reason to apologize and threatened to pass next year’s $18-billion budget unilaterally today.
