Pomona : Grant for Science Teachers

Cal Poly Pomona has received a $355,133 grant from the National Science Foundation for a special program to train elementary school teachers to teach science.
The university and Jet Propulsion Laboratory of Pasadena have developed a program entitled “A Comfortable Approach to Teaching Science” that will be given to 114 teachers from nearby school districts over two years. Participants will receive four weeks of instruction each summer in astronomy, light, sound and the changing Earth, plus additional sessions during the academic year.
