Exercise Rider Dies After Horse Unseats and Rolls Over Her

A veteran exercise rider was killed at Hollywood Park early Wednesday morning when a horse she was riding threw her, then fell on her.
Syndi Richardson, 35, a mother of two, was taken to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood after the 7 a.m. accident, but attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Richardson, who was galloping the horse for trainer Dick Mandella, apparently was crushed when the horse rolled on top of her after unseating her. The Mandella barn did not identify the horse who reportedly was not harmed.
Richardson’s husband, Lin, is a veterinarian.
