Two Schools Prominent on Times Honor Squad

Bell Gardens and St. John Bosco high schools had nine of the 23 players chosen to The Times All-Southeast football team.
Bell Gardens, which went 10-0 during the regular season, placed offensive lineman Rudy Torres, defensive linemen Ben Trujillo and George Garibay, linebacker Frank Murillo and defensive back Joe Munoz on the team.
St. John Bosco, which plays Friday night at Anaheim Stadium against Crespi for the Southern Section Big Five Conference football championship, had four selections. They were offensive lineman Terry Furey, running back-quarterback Jim Sterner, linebacker Tom Furey and defensive back Kelvin Means.
Other members of the offensive team include: running back Mondo Costello and wide receiver Jason Pantages of St. Paul, wide receiver John Sung and running back Robbie Watkins of La Serna, lineman Ernesto Vasquez of Montebello, lineman Sal Prieto of El Rancho, center Robert Stephens of La Mirada--a two-time choice to the team--quarterback Andy Emch of Whittier and all-purpose choice Sean McQuown of Valley Christian.
Other defensive selections were: linemen Eric Johnson of Valley Christian, Greg Reynolds of Warren and Todd Johan of La Serna, linebacker Alex Gammell of Whittier Christian and back Reggie Kennedy of Bellflower.
Kennedy was the only defensive player to repeat on the team.
