NATO Presses for Nuclear Cuts

BRUSSELS — Leaders of the NATO alliance today urged the United States not to let the Iran- contra affair slow down negotiations with the Soviet Union on reducing nuclear weapons in Europe.
While U.S. Secretary of State George P. Shultz offered assurances that the Reagan Administration would not shy away from its leadership role, the allies called for a concerted effort to turn the Iceland summit understandings into concrete agreements.
