OTHER SPORTS : Northridge’s Kane Heads All-WFC Selections

Mike Kane of Cal State Northridge has been selected Offensive Player of the Year in a vote of Western Football Conference coaches.
Kane, a 5-10, 180-pound senior, rushed for a conference record 1,565 yards this season. He also led the WFC in scoring (96) and punt returns (11.3).
Kicker Mike Doan, center Brian Clark, defensive linemen Darryl McIntyre and Destor Stowers and defensive back Kip Dukes of Northridge and Cal Lutheran defensive lineman John Hynes were also selected first-team all-conference.
Wide receiver Brian Coushay of Portland State also was on the first team. Coushay, formerly of Newbury Park High, was third in the WFC with 46 catches for 820 yards.
John Tronson and Thor Lee of the Cal State Northridge soccer team have been selected to the Division II All-America team. Tronson is a senior forward from Crespi High. Lee is a junior halfback/fullback from Newbury Park High.
