Costa Mesa : 2 Men Break Into Home and Rob Man of $1,250

A swap meet salesman was robbed of $1,250 early Monday by two men who broke into his home and tied him up with an electrical cord, authorities said.

Raymond Habercorn, 45, was awakened at 3:30 a.m. at his home in the 2500 block of Elden Avenue by the two, who tied him up and demanded money, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Leslie Harrison said.

After Habercorn told them he had hidden $1,250 under his mattress, the men took the money and fled, police said. Habercorn untied himself after several minutes and called police.

Police described the men as being in their mid-20s. One was about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with dark, short straight hair. He was wearing a dark shirt and light pants, police said. The other suspect was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 160 pounds. He had dark, medium-length curly hair and wore light pants, police said.
