A former senior buyer for a defense firm convicted of accepting kickbacks on subcontracts for the B-1 bomber and other military projects was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to six months in prison. Stephen Rowland, 36, of Oxnard, who worked as a buyer for Micropolis Corp. and later as senior buyer for Systron Donner Co., both of Los Angeles, was indicted in July on 20 counts of fraud and tax evasion for setting up a kickback arrangement with a sales representative for several suppliers who agreed to become a government witness against Rowland.
