Acid-filled bottles left by arsonists exploded in six retail stores in Hamburg, West Germany, causing millions of dollars in damage but no injuries, police said. A Hamburg police spokesman said investigators suspect the attacks are linked to a protest Saturday by about 10,000 people against the eviction of tenants from public housing that is scheduled to be torn down. The group included about 1,000 masked militants who pelted police with rocks, bottles and lumber, resulting in injuries to 93 police officers and 31 demonstrators.
