A clandestine Muslim extremist group in Lebanon said in a statement that it will soon free one of its two French hostages. “In the spirit of Christmas, we announce that we shall soon release one of the French hostages as a new gesture,” a handwritten statement from the “Revolutionary Justice Organization” said. The statement, delivered to two leading Beirut newspapers, was accompanied by color photographs of Frenchmen Aureal Cornea and Jean Louis-Normandin, who worked for a French television network.
