Dozens of supporters gathered in a saloon to welcome home Eugene Hasenfus, who was pardoned last week by Nicaragua from a 30-year prison term imposed for running guns to the contras . About 50 friends gathered at the Boom County Saloon with Hasenfus and his wife, Sally, in Menominee, Mich., the twin city of Marinette, Wis., Hasenfus’ hometown. “It was a festive atmosphere. Everyone was happy,” said Pat Furlong, owner of the tavern.
