Rosemead : New Schools Chief Named

Vera Wallen, superintendent of the Richland School District near Bakersfield, has been named superintendent of the Rosemead Elementary School District, effective next month. Wallen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her Ph.D. in 1979. She replaces Richard A. Harris, who resigned last July. The district has 2,500 students at four elementary schools and one intermediate school.
