WHITTIER — Police are looking for witnesses who might have seen a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian Dec.17
Officer Wyatt Powell said that Lawrence Woody, 43, was struck and killed about 5:30 p.m. on Mar Vista Street near Milton Avenue. Powell said the street is normally busy that time of day but the Police Department has not been able to find witnesses.
It is possible that the car that hit Woody, a Whittier resident, was green. Powell said it is also possible that the car has some damage to the front end and a broken turn-light indicator.
Powell asked that anyone with information call the Police Department at (213)945-8250, 24 hours a day.
