LONDON — Thieves fired steel ball bearings through the glass front of a London art gallery to break in and steal three paintings by French artists worth at least $109,000, the owners said Saturday.
Police said the smash-and-grab raid on the Lasson Gallery, near Piccadilly in London’s West End, probably occurred early Friday, when the area would have been deserted for the Boxing Day holiday that follows Christmas in Britain.
