MOSCOW — Coca-Cola will go on sale to the Soviet public in May under an agreement that commits the American soft drink firm to promote sales of Soviet-made Lada cars in the United States, Moscow Radio said Saturday.
Coca-Cola has said it expects to sell $1 billion worth of soft drinks over the next six years under an agreement signed with the Soviet Union in December.
Pepsi-Cola, Coke’s archrival, has become highly popular since it was introduced to the Soviet public 13 years ago.
