WCAC Roundup : Gonzaga Beats San Diego, 58-46, for 7th in Row

Dale Haaland had 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead Gonzaga to a 58-46 West Coast Athletic Conference victory over the University of San Diego Saturday night at Spokane, Wash.
It was the seventh straight victory for Gonzaga (10-4, 2-0), the best winning streak by the Bulldogs since joining the WCAC in 1979.
The Bulldogs held San Diego (10-4, 1-1) to just 34% shooting and outrebounded the Toreros, 36-25.
Scott Thompson had 12 points for the Toreros, and Danny Means added 11. Jim McPhee scored 10 for Gonzaga.
Portland 55, St. Mary’s 51--Greg Attaway had 18 points, including four three-pointers in the closing minutes, to lift the Pilots to a WCAC victory over the Gaels at Portland.
St. Mary’s built a 34-23 lead with 11 minutes left, but Attaway’s three-pointers helped pull Portland into a 48-48 tie with three minutes left. The Pilots scored seven straight points to seal the victory.
