Former Raider guard Gene Upshaw and Pittsburgh defensive tackle Joe Greene, a cornerstone of the Steelers’ Super Bowl championship teams of the 1970s, headed a list of seven ex-NFL players selected as finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Others were fullback Larry Csonka and center Jim Langer of the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Len Dawson of the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Don Maynard of the New York Jets and running back John Henry Johnson, who played for the Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Houston Oilers.
Inductees will be announced Tuesday.
