In reference to the Peter Greenberg article Jan. 4 about service-oriented travel agencies, my agency has been providing excellent service to our clients for almost nine years. Compared to American Express, Evergreen is a mid-size agency, yet each and every one of our clients receives “platinum” service whether he or she has a credit card or not. I took exception to the story because it seemed to me that it intimated that the smaller service-oriented, top-drawer agencies, like us, can no longer survive in the deregulated world. I think it is possible and, believe me, I am going to try.
